Equity PAC announces new endorsements for county and state candidates!

Equity PAC, a local organization working to increase the number of equity-minded policies, practices, and officials in West Michigan, enthusiastically endorses the following candidates following our recent endorsement meeting on June 26th, online feedback, and deliberation from Equity PAC leadership.

  • Stephen Wooden, County Commissioner

  • Monica Sparks, County Commissioner

  • Robert Van Kirk, 77th State House District

“Equitable county leadership is essential for this region. They play a vital role in key health services and public spaces and are key representatives to advocate for growing public concern surrounding the Kent County Sheriff and their contract with Immigration and Customs Enforcement. Stephen and Monica, both, would be strong advocates for equitable action in Kent County,” says Denavvia Mojet, Equity PAC board member.

At the state level, concerns over equitable funding for education, further advancing LGBTQ rights, and disproportionate budget allocations supporting incarceration prompt us to endorse Robert Van Kirk. “We need people like Robert in office, someone with a vision for a more inclusive, forward-thinking Michigan who fight to put the people first,” says Kelsey Perdue.

Be sure to vote for Robert, Monica, and Stephen in the upcoming elections. Do you want to volunteer to support them? Sign up here!
